I'm back...honest!

My sincerest appologies to what few readers I have! The past few months have been so long and tiresome, but we are finally getting back to the swing of things around here and pens have been almost flying off the lathe. =)

Mere DAYS after I recieved my lathe my family and I fell prey to a flu bug like no other. Even after the fever and illness left, it took a week to get our energy back. Even my young one (20 months) hardly wanted to move! After my household was fully recovered, my mom got sick as well! Since my lathe was at my parents house...well, you can guess the rest. Needless to say, I didn't get to turn my first pen until almost a month after I recieved all my supplies.

And then the following week? I ended up spending the night in the hospital. Somehow I had contracted a wicked stomach virus that flared up my acid reflux to the point that only morphine and IV antacids could quench the pain.

But now, all is well. Over the next few days I will be posting pictures of all the pens and pencils I have made, and what I've learned while working on each of them. The pictures that I've taken so far will all be available for immediate viewing on my photo page. The first few I wasn't too impressed with, but now I've gotten to the point that I am very comfortable with both my lathe and tools. If I could only master a finishing technique, then I'd be ready to start selling!
